Comune di Lerici, Assessorato alla Cultura Consorzio Castello di Lerici A cura dell´Associazione Culturale Gest-Azione LA DANZA DI CONFINE 4° Festival di Assoli BUTOH 4-5-6 Maggio 2007 Castello di Lerici (La Spezia) Concetto-Direzione Artistica: Annalisa Maggiani Consulenza: Maria Pia D´orazi Questo Festival prosegue il viaggio nella “terra di confine”. “La danza di confine”: confine inteso come terra di nessuno, terra di passaggio, di transizione e trasformazione. Danzare in questa terra vuol dire prendersi il rischio di creare nuovi territori, mettere in comunicazione mondi diversi: il conscio e l´inconscio, il conosciuto e lo sconosciuto, la forma e la mancanza di forma. Ed anche “la terra di confine” tra Oriente ed Occidente, tra diverse discipline artistiche: confine come spazio di passaggio tra culture, arti, stili, in cui la capacitä di assorbimento e trasformazione porta alla creazione di nuove appartenenze, alla trasformazione delle reciproche diversità. Una terra in cui il corpo ritrova tutta la sua forza comunicativa e poetica. L’assolo nella danza butoh come nelle nuova danza ha un ruolo fondamentale: il danzatore libero coreografo di sé stesso, spesso usando l’improvvisazione per meglio cogliere l’attimo in divenire, può, come dice Kazuo Ohno: “Lasciare che l’anima indossi il cosmo entrando nel regno di una originaria memoria del corpo”. When dancing in this land we are creating new territories, by bringing in communication from different worlds: conscious and unconscious, known and unknown, form and formless. It is a land between East and West, between different artistic disciplines. Border, meaning the space of transition between different cultures, arts and styles, in which the capacity of absorbing and transforming creates new appearances. It is a land in which the body finds all its own communicative strength and poetry. “Let the soul be dressed by the cosmos by entering the kingdom of the original body memory” Kazuo Ohno The Butoh guests performing at Castello di Lerici this year will be: Minako Seki (Berlin) with the solo “Dancing in Between” and Yoko Muronoi (Yokohama) with the piece “Anoyo no dekigoto”, life music by Ikuro Takahashi. This year’s festival offers bigger space to the visual arts (photography, video installations, and paintings) and introduces “Confrontazioni”, where every year will be invited a different choreographer-dancer from the field of contemporary dance, whose work will follow an authentic research that we can call “The land on the border”. This year Adalisa Menhgini (Berlin) will present the solo: ”Corpo a Corpo“. During the Vernissage, Annalisa Maggiani will take part in the performance “Costellazioni” created by the painter Pietro Bellani. The other artists who will present their work involving body, borders and transformation, are: Emilio D’ Itri (Roma) with the photographic exhibition of Butoh dancers in portrait: “Paesaggi dell’anima” Bruna Esposito (Roma) with the DVD “Untitled, projection of a shadow “ Maria Distante (Pisa) with the video-installation: “Alberi“ Mario Morleo (Berlin) with the video projection “Esistenza Oscura” The Castle and its beautiful surroundings will also host the Italian Forum of Butoh, “Confronting Butoh” during which national and European dancers will perform improvised solo pieces, from the duration of one minute. The theme of the Symposium is “The body as memory container and the reasons of the body”, in attendance will be the journalist and writer Maria Pia D’Orazi (Rom), an Prof. of Philosophy from the University of Pisa and the Poetry Angelo Tonelli (Lerici).
